A Terror Race

Portland based painter William Campbell and myself produced a 30 second commercial as an entry for MoveOn Voter Fund's contest Bush in 30 Seconds, calling for entries to tell what's what about the Bush Administration. It's notable that during the contest, the Republicans vehemently slammed MoveOn and the ads as irresponsible Democratic-and-Hillary-Clinton-sponsored unpatriotic garbage.

The general public voted on the entries, and the top 15 went to a celebrity panel of judges including among others Michael Moore, Moby, Gus van Sant, Al Franken, and Margaret Cho. Though the winning commercial, Child's Pay, was made by a self-confessed advertising executive, it was a rather good commercial, and I'm not upset at losing to it, at least that's what I'm telling people, and I'm sticking to it. MoveOn tried to get the winning commercial shown during the Super Bowl, but CBS refused to air it!

Our entry did not rank within the top 15, though I am quite curious to see how it did rank, since it is really the first video project either of us has done, and done at the last minute. At some point we will rework the movie to be a bit longer, so that it doesn't rush by so fast.
